VP of Marketing
About kaiko
Delivering high quality cancer care is complex; specialists form a view of each patient's condition by reasoning across different data—CT scans, genomics context, treatment history and clinical notes.
Current AI are powerful within domains but fall short when it comes to reasoning across data or domain areas. kaiko.w, our AI assistant for oncology, aims to equip every clinician with a full understanding of their patients, helping them to reason across data as they assess each case.
We’re building this in close collaboration with the Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI) and a growing network of hospitals and research centers. We’ve raised significant long-term funding and have nearly doubled our team over the past year. We’re now 100+ people representing 25 nationalities, based across our offices in Zurich and Amsterdam.
About the role
Kaiko is entering its next phase of growth—one that demands clarity, credibility, and scale. We're building a category-defining AI product for clinicians, and we need a VP of Marketing who can shape how the world sees us.
You’ll lead all of marketing—positioning, content, events, PR, brand, digital—and build the infrastructure to scale as we grow across Europe and beyond. Your focus: translate complex AI and healthcare strategy into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with doctors, researchers, and engineers.
This role is for a senior marketing leader who can operate at multiple altitudes—driving executive strategy, developing a high-performing team, and ensuring marketing is tightly aligned with sales, product, and research. You'll be a core member of our leadership team, with high ownership and impact.
You will be based in either the Netherlands or Switzerland, with the expectation of spending at least 50% of your time at the office.
Some areas of responsibility
You’ll…
- Own and evolve Kaiko’s positioning and narrative, aligning it across all touchpoints—from product to press.
- Build and lead a multidisciplinary marketing team (content, events, ops, brand, design, digital).
- Partner with founders, sales, and research to align marketing with commercial strategy and product direction.
- Lead thought leadership, clinical engagement, and brand-building efforts across Europe and beyond.
About you:
- B2B marketing leadership, including experience building and scaling teams.
- Deep understanding of AI products (e.g., foundation models, agentic systems, RL), ideally within healthcare or life sciences.
- Strong track record of building positioning and messaging for complex, technical products.
- Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and collaborate effectively across sales, product, and R&D.
You bring:
- High agency and ownership—comfortable with ambiguity, fast context switching, and startup dynamics.
- Strategic clarity with execution drive—you turn abstract ideas into clear roadmaps.
- Outstanding communication and storytelling skills, especially in regulated or skeptical markets like healthcare.
- Fluency in Dutch and English
Nice to have:
- Experience marketing into European healthcare systems or medtech environments.
- Familiarity with medical regulatory contexts or compliance-sensitive communications.
- German language skills
We are excited to gather a broad range of perspectives in our team, as we believe it will help us build better products to support a broader set of people. If you’re excited about us but don’t fit every single qualification, we still encourage you to apply: we’ve had incredible team members join us who didn’t check every box!
